Money Monster sees Clooney reunite with fellow Oscar winner Julia Roberts for a tense thriller that sees Jodie Foster back in the director's chair.
This is the fourth feature film of Foster's directorial career and the first since The Beaver back in 2011. Money Monster really does look set to be her breakthrough movie as a filmmaker and I cannot wait to see what she delivers.
We are going to have to wait until May for Money Monster to hit the big screen, but the first trailer for the film has arrived. Check it out:
Clooney and Roberts take on the central roles of Lee Gates and Parry Fenn and are joined on the cast list by Jack O'Connell, Dominic West, Caitriona Balfe, Giancarlo Esposito, and Chris Bauer.
In the taut and tense thriller Money Monster, Lee Gates (Clooney) is a bombastic TV personality whose popular financial network show has made him the money wiz of Wall Street. But after he hawks a high-tech stock that mysteriously crashes, an irate investor (O'Connell) takes Gates, his crew, and his ace producer Patty Fenn (Roberts) hostage live on air.
Unfolding in real time, Gates and Fenn must find a way to keep themselves alive while simultaneously uncovering the truth behind a tangle of big money lies.
Money Monster is the latest producing project for Clooney and his production partner Grant Heslov and it really is promising to be a spring movie that cannot be missed.
Money Monster is released in May.
