Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation has made it two weeks at the top of the U.S. box office.
Rogue Nation, which is the fifth film in the popular Mission: Impossible franchise, too a further $29,4 million during it's second weekend on release to hold off the challenge from Fantastic Four and The Gift.
So far, the movie has grossed in excess of $265 million at the global box office as Tom Cruise returns to the franchise and reprises the role of Ethan Hunt.
Fantastic Four was the highest new entry this week as the superhero movie opened at number two. The movie marks the return of Josh Trank to the director's chair for the first time since he made his debut with Chronicle back in 2012.
The movie took $26,2 million in its opening weekend, despite struggling with the critics. This is the first Fantastic Four movie since Rise of the Silver Surfer back in 2007 and sees Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, and Michael B Jordan take over the role of Reed Richard, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm.
The Gift, which marks the directorial debut of actor Joel Edgerton, was new at three. The thriller sees Edgerton pen the screenplay as well as star alongside Jason Bateman and Rebecca Hall.
Vacation was down two places from two to four this week, while Ant-Man was also down two and rounded off the top five.
Minions fell out of the top five for the first time as it dropped two spots from four to six. Minions is the highest grossing animation movie of 2015 so far with $912 million. Is it set to become the fourth film to break the $1 billion barrier?
Ricki and the Flash, which sees Meryl Streep back on the big screen, was the third and final new entry inside the top ten this week as it opened at seven.
Trainwreck was down at eight, while Pixels was this week's biggest faller at nine. The movie, which is released in the UK this week, was down four places from last week's number five.
Southpaw was a three place faller this week as it dropped from seven to number ten.
