Midnight Special is one of the 2016 science fiction films that I am looking forward to the most and there's only a few weeks to go until the film hits the big screen.
Midnight Special marks the return of Jeff Nichols to the director's chair and writing duties and he really is one of the most exciting filmmakers around.
This is the fourth feature film of Nichols' career and the first since he enjoyed critical success with Mud back 2012. MIdnight Special sees the director reunite with Michael Shannon for what will be their third feature film together; they have already brought us Shotgun Stories and Take Shelter.
Midnight Special is set to hit the big screen at the beginning of April and we have some terrific images for you to take a look at:
Shannon is set to take on the central role of Roy and is joined on the cast list by Adam Drive, Kirsten Dunst, Joel Edgerton, Sean Bridgers, and Sam Shepard.
Roy (Shannon) is a father desperate to protect his uniquely gifted, eight-year-old son in this genre-defying thriller, which proves once again that director Jeff Nichols is one of the most compelling storytellers of our time.
As father and son go on the run, an intense chase ensues as they are hunted down by a mysterious cult and a clandestine government agency - the outcome of which could bring about a world-changing event.
Midnight Special is released 8th April.
