Michelle Rodriguez is to appear as a man in her latest movie role.
Rodriguez has been cast alongside Sigourney Weaver in the thriller, 'Tomboy, A Revenger's Tale', in which Michelle's on-screen character goes under the knife of a rogue surgeon who turns him into a woman.
She then sets about trying to seek revenge against the gangster who double-crossed her and instigated the drama in the first instance, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Meanwhile, Michelle - who is set to start filming early next month - revealed recently that she has ambitions of carving out an acting niche.
She said: "I just said to myself, look, 'You're going to just have to create your own archetype, doesn't matter if you go broke doing it.
"And I almost did go broke, twice! But people finally got it: 'OK, Michelle is not malleable, you're not going to influence her by shining fame and money at her,' and they stopped offering me that sort of stuff."
The actress has previously discussed being typecast as a tomboy, having consistently portrayed tough female characters.
She said: "If I decided I didn't want to be typecast tomorrow, I'd just do an indie film where I play some poor girl who goes through some excruciating experience and win myself an award for crying or being raped.
"But at the end of the day, I'm not in it for the acting. I only wanna be someone I respect or someone that I consider interesting or fun. I'm here to entertain people and make a statement about female empowerment and strength."
