Michelle Monaghan says the script drew her to new film Pixels, calling the 'quickest' reads she has ever had.
Pixels will see Monaghan team up with filmmaker Chris Columbus, while Adam Sandler and Peter Dinklage are some of the other names on the cast list.
And the actress reveals that once she has read the script and saw who was involved, the project was a 'no-brainer.'
Speaking to Collider, the actress said: It was the script. Honestly, it was one of the quickest reads I’ve ever had.
"They sent me the script and I read the tag line and was like, ;I don’t know about this.' But I read it, and it was 100 pages, and it was the quickest read. It was so funny and so well-written, and that was it.
"I got on the phone with Adam Sandler, and I talked with Chris Columbus. The rest of the cast shaped up, with Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage and Kevin James. It was just a no-brainer."
Filming is currently underway on Pixels, which is set to hit the big screen next year.
Monaghan is back this week with her brand new film The Best of Me, which is another of Nicholas Sparks' novels to be adapted into a movie.
The actress has also completed work on Playing It Cool, which sees her team up with Ioan Gruffudd, Chris Evans, and Aubrey Plaza.
Pixels is released 21st August 2015.
