Macbeth is a movie that just about everyone has been talking about since it screened at the Cannes Film festival earlier this year... it really does look set to be one of the autumn movies that you cannot miss.
We are huge fans of Michael Fassbender her at FemaleFirst and he is set to take over the title role - a performance for which he is already receiving critical acclaim.
Macbeth is being tipped as one of the possible early Oscar contenders and we could see Fassbender in the mix for the prestigious Best Actor gong - it would be his first nomination in this category should he get the nod at the beginning of next year.
The brand new full length trailer for the film has arrived and is looks like it is going to be quite a dark film from director Justin Kurzel. Check it out:
Marion Cotillard is also on board as Lady Macbeth in another performance that has got the critics raving. The duo are joined on the cast list by Paddy Considine, Sean Harris, Jack Reynor, David Thewlis, and Elizabeth Debicki.
Macbeth marks the return of Justin Kurzel to the director's chair for his first film since Snowtown back in 2011. This will mark the first time that the filmmaker has teamed up with Fassbender - the duo are currently working together on new film Assassin's Creed.
Macbeth is the story of a fearless warrior and inspiring leader brought low by ambition and desire. A thrilling interpretation of the dramatic realities of the times and a reimagining of what wartime must have been like for one of literature's most famous and compelling characters, a story of all-consuming passion and ambition set in war torn Scotland.
Macbeth is released 2nd October.
