Mia Wasikowska says that she does have feature film directing dreams but she wants to see how her debut short turns out first.
The actress is set to step behind the camera for the very first time to helm a short film as par of The Turning.
And while she has never directed before she does have aspirations to turn her hand to much bigger projects.
Speaking to the Press Association the actress said: "It's fun. It's just a short film so it's more of a little project.
"It will be at home in Australia, just a couple of days of filming, and it should be really fun to try it.
"I would love to (direct a film), for sure, but I don't really know. We'll see how I am with five minutes of material first and then, see if it's worth it or not."
But do not fear Wasikowska fans she has not plans to move away from acting just yet as she has already finished work on The Double, Tracks and Only Lovers Left Alive.
Her current project Stoker is out now.
