Melissa McCarthy was "legitimately scared" of the actors dressed as spectres on set of 'Ghostbusters' movie.
McCarthy stars alongside Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones in the new female-led reboot, was freaked out when her friend chased her dressed in the full makeup and costume of a ghoul.
She told Empire magazine: "The first ghost we saw, we were all legitimately scared. With the make-up and the costumes and the light, they looked pretty darn terrifying. One ghost chased me down a subway tunnel; only afterwards did I realise it was a guy called Dave who I've known for 15 years."
Director Paul Feig isn't surprised the cast were scared, because he wanted the ghosts to look as "real" as possible.
Speaking about the differences between the reboot and the original movie, which was made 30 years ago, he said: "In the original, they were all kind of cartoon-y, which I like, but I want everything in this movie to be as real as a movie based on fake stuff can be."
Meanwhile, Leslie - who plays one fourth of the ghost-fighting gang, Patty Tolan - was more concerned she would injure herself performing the difficult stunts and felt like she was in an action movie starring the likes of Jean Claude Van Damme.
She told Empire: "At one point, I had to tell Paul, 'Hey, I'm a comedian. I'm not a f***ing stunt person! What the f**k, yo?' He'd always be like, 'You can do it, Jones, Come on.' We've been doing some Van Damme s**t on this one."
