Mel Gibson is believed to be in talks for new action film Blood Father.
Deadline has revealed that Blood Father will be an action thriller in the style of Taken, with Gibson being linked to the main role in the film.
Blood Father will be directed by Jean-Francois Richet - he has brought up Assault on Precinct 13 and Mesrine: Killer Instinct - while The Town scribe Peter Craig has penned the screenplay.
The movie is set to follow an ex-con as he tries to protect is estranged teenage daughter from the drug dealers who want to kill her.
We last saw Gibson on the big screen in Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills last year, but he is set to return in The Expendables 13.
Gibson is just one of the brand new faces who will join the hit action franchise, when it returns this summer.
Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes and Harrison Ford are some of the other new stars to watch out for, while Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and Jet Li are all back.
Filming on Blood Father looks set to get underway in May in New Mexico.
