Matthew McConaughey will not be returning to returning Magic Mike XXL.
McConaughey took on the role of Dallas in the 2012, but director Greg Jacobs has confirmed to IndieWire that he will not be back.
However, there are a couple of familiar farces to watch out for on the cast list, as Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello are all reprising their roles.
It is also all change in the director's chair, as Jacobs takes over from Steven Soderbergh.
However, Soderbergh is still involved in the project as he is serving as Jacobs' director of photography.
While Jacobs didn't tell IndieWire much about the film, he did say: "It’s road trip movie and put it this way, it’s different enough that once you see it you’ll understand why we made a sequel.
"No one will be accusing us of making the same movie twice."
Magic Mike XXL is the third feature film of Jacobs' career after Criminal and Wind Chill.
Magic Mike was one of the sleeper hits of 2012; made for just $7 million it went on to gross over $167 million at the global box office.
As for McConaughey, he is currently filming The Sea of Trees with director Gus Van Sant. He will be back on the big screen this autumn in the highly anticipated Interstellar.
Magic Mike XXL is released 7th August 2015.
