Martin Freeman has signed up to star in the screen adaptation of 'Ghost Stories.'
Freeman has boarded the cast of the thriller which sees 'Death at a Funeral' actor Andy Nyman reprise his role from the stage production as Professor Phillip Goodman, who is an expert in psychology and a paranormal sceptic.
Nyman wrote the play with Jeremy Dyson and the story revolves around the Professor being contacted by his long-lost mentor and TV celebrity Charles Cameron, who has been missing for 15 years and whom he thought was dead.
The pair meet and Goodman is tasked with debunking three cases that left Cameron very frightened years before.
It is not clear whether Freeman will play the part of Cameron or one of the three haunted people that Professor Goodman subsequently meets.
However, the 'Sherlock' actor co-wrote the screenplay with Nyman- whose other acting credits include 'Kick Ass 2' and 'Severance' - and fellow British actor George MacKay is also set to star in the thriller.
Freeman will be seen next in Marvel's 'Captain America: Civil War' and alongside Tina Fey in comedy 'Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.'
