Mark Wahlberg has tipped Argo for the Best Picture Oscar on Sunday night.
Argo has enjoyed huge success in recent weeks with big wins at the Golden Globes, Baftas, Screen Actors Guild Awards and Directors Guild of America Awards picking up Best Film and Best Director gongs.
And while Argo is a major contender for Best Picture Ben Affleck has been overlooked in the Best Director category - but Wahlberg believes that this oversight could work in the film's favour.
Speaking to The Huffington Post the actor said: "I think there's a 110% chance Daniel Day-Lewis will win. I think Argo will definitely win 'Best Picture'.
"I think Ben Affleck not being nominated for 'Best Director' has now turned into a blessing because everyone's outraged by the fact he wasn't nominated, so now he's going to win everything, and I think it's a great movie too."
Wahlberg went on to reveal that he was a big fan of Ang Lee's film Life of Pi and praised the central performance by first timer Suraj Sharma.
"Personally, I love Life of Pi. Maybe it was because I spent four months working opposite an imaginary teddy bear, and Suraj Sharma had to do the same thing with this tiger, I just thought his performance was spectacular.
"And it was his first time out. I thought, 'Wow'. It took me 30 movies to be confident enough to pull that off."
Wahlberg's film Ted is up for one gong as Everybody Needs a Best Friend is in the running for Best Original Song.
The winners will be announced Sunday 24th February.
