Styles is set to make his big screen debut after landing a role in Christopher Nolan's war epic Dunkirk, alongside Rylance.

And during the filming, Rylance admits that he has been impressed with Styles and has likened him to Sean Penn.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, Rylance said: "No, he doesn't need tips. He is shaping up. I didn't know anything about him really other than my 12-year-old niece played me a music video. She adores him. There are girls all over the place trying to get to him - he is one handsome fella with an incredible smile and eyes.

"What's really surprised me is he's really witty, really funny - he really makes me laugh. He's been ever so brave, not making any fuss.

"He seems remarkable... one of those people [who has] - Sean Penn has it too - a kind of panache. I look at them and think, 'How did you get that? How do you get so that life is easy?' But he has got a lovely, lovely character. It's a gift."

Filming on Dunkirk is still under way and is the first film for Nolan since Interstellar. As well as being in the director's chair, Nolan has also penned the film's screenplay.

Rylance and Styles are joined on the cast list by Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh, and James D'Arcy.

As for Rylance, he is back on the big screen this week as he reunites with Steven Spielberg for a new adaptation of The BFG. Rylance will take on the title role in what is his first role since he won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in Bridge of Spies.

Ready Player One is his next film project, which will be his third movie with Spielberg.

Dunkirk is released 21 July 2017.
