Following her success at the Golden Globes, William Hill rate Meryl Streep as their 8/13 favourite for the Best Actress Oscar with her nearest challenger Michelle Williams at 7/4 for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe.
"The two favourites play two very different icons and it will come as no great surprise to her supporters but we think Maggie will come out on top," said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.
George Clooney is 4/7 to win the best Actor Oscar with The Artist 1/3 to win Best Film.
