Marc Webb says it would be hard to resist the chance to make The Amazing Spider Man 3, if he is offered the director's chair for the film.
Webb has just finished principle photography on the second film, which is due to hit the big screen next year.
The movie sees him reunite with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone - both are reprising the roles of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy from the first film.
And while it has been announced that The Amazing Spider Man 3 will go ahead, there is not director officially attached to the project.
Speaking to Collide the director said: "I’m incredibly excited about the possibility of a third movie.
"I had a blast making this and working with Andrew and Emma has been one of the great delights of my career, and Sally and Jamie and Dane and Chris.
"It’s really, really fun and it’d be hard to resist not doing it again."
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will hit the big screen just two years after the success of the first.
And second time around Webb will be introducing new actors to the franchise as Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti and Felicity Jones are all on board.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is released 18th April 2014.
