Mama
A sequel to Mama is already in the early stages of development according to Universal Pictures President of International, David Kosse.
The Guillermo Del Toro produced horror film is set to be released in the UK this weekend while it has already topped the box office in America.
The film is based on the short movie of the same name and sees Jessica Chastain team up with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
And the success of the film has not gone unnoticed at the studio and they are considering a second film.
Kosse told Screen Daily: "We think there’s potential for a Mama franchise... We’d like to do another one. But those conversations are in the early stages.
"Mama is the first of this type of model that we’ve had enormous success with so there are more opportunities for this kind of film."
Del Toro has produced some terrific horror movies over the years finding success with the likes of The Orphanage and Julia's Eyes.
This time around he teams up with director Andrés Muschietti - the man behind the original short.
Mama is released 22nd February.
