Luke Evans says he is not afraid of The Crow 'curse' as he is not a superstitious guy.
Evans is set to take over the role of Eric Draven - Brandon Lee was killed on set while filming the original - as he teams up with director F. Javier Gutiérrez.
Speaking to Guilty Pleasures the actor said: "I’m not one of those superstitious people.
"It is incredibly sad that Brendon died making the movie. He was a very talented actor. It is a very beautiful story, The Crow.
"It is a very tragic story with huge emotional themes. We plan to tell the story differently and with a lot of integrity to the original comic book."
The Crow is based on the comic book series by James O'Barr and Cliff Dorfman has penned the screenplay.
But before we see Evans in The Crow, he will be back on the big screen this week in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
The actor is one of the new faces on the cast list as we are introduced to the character of Bard The Bowman for the first time.
Evans has also completed work on Dracula Untold, and will be on the small screen in drama The Great Train Robbery.
There is currently no release date for The Crow.
