Luke Evans has described Dracula Untold as a 'massive, sweeping story.
Evans is set to take on the role of Vlad Tepes in the Gary Shore directed film. Evans went on to call Dracula Untold an origins story.
Speaking to Collider, the actor said: "It’s a massive, sweeping story about the man behind a fictional character.
"We start in the 1400's and It’s about this character, this historical figure Vlad Tepes who was a king and a leader, an immense warrior, he had the love and respect of his people, and it’s about him as much as it’s about his transformation and what makes him turn into this creature of the night, this vampire.
"It’s an origin story, if you will. It’s a huge story. There’s a massive amount of emotional thread and it has all the elements you’d want from a sweeping drama about a time long gone."
The movie marks the first time that Evans has teamed up with Shore, as he makes his feature film directorial debut with this project.
Evans is joined on the cast list by Dominic Cooper, Samantha Barks, Sarah Gadon and Charlie Cox.
Evans will also reprise the role of Bard in The Hobbit: There and Back Again at the end of the year. He is due to start shooting the remake of The Crow.
Dracula Untold is released 17th October.
