Lorenzo di Bonaventura says Jack Ryan is an enduring character because he is 'completely different' to other heroes in the action genre.
Bonaventura serves as producer on Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and has been with the project from the beginning.
The producer was at the European premiere of the latest Jack Ryan instalment earlier this week and talked about the character's enduring qualities.
Speaking to FemaleFirst exclusively at the premiere, he said; "I think it is just because it is completely different to any other character in an action movie or action genre. He is a man that is affected by death.
"He is a man whose morality drives his choices, despite going against his better instincts. He is also a guy who is always going to the right thing.
"As an audience member, you kind of wish you were like him if you were in his position."
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit sees Kenneth Branagh return to the director's chair, while Chris Pine takes on the title roles.
2014 is set to be a busy year for Bonaventura as Higher Power, Electric Slide and Transformers: Age of Extinction are all upcoming movies that he has produced.
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is released 24th January.
