Lily Collins says it was "inevitable" she was going to become actress.
The 24-year-old star began her career at the tender age of two in the British TV series 'Growing Pains' and although she had other ambitions when she was growing up acting was something in her blood.
She told Stylist magazine: "I started acting when I was two. I think becoming an actress was inevitable as I've always loved dressing up and telling stories, but it was never pushed upon me. I wanted to be a lawyer, ballerina, fashion designer and work at the supermarket. But whatever I wanted to do I was supported."
Lily - the daughter of singer Phil Collins and Jill Tavelman, who separated in 1996 - is fast making a name for her in the movie world with roles in 'Mirror Mirror', 'Stuck in Love' and 'The English Teacher'.
However, she believes she could also follow in her dad Phil's musical footsteps and launch a successful pop career and thinks a good start would be a musical movie.
When quizzed about a possible foray into music, she recently said: "I'd never say never, but I would like to do a musical movie where I get to experiment with that more, as acting is definitely my focus and my passion.
"Incorporating music would be quite fun I think and musical movies are definitely happening right now."
Lily's first attempt at music came when she recorded a track called 'I Believe (In Love)' for 2011 film 'Mirror Mirror', in which she played the lead role of Snow White.
