Liam Hemsworth doesn't think his character really comes to life until the third 'Hunger Games' movie.

The 23-year-old actor hit the big time with his role as Gale Hawthorne in the first film in the franchise, 2012's 'The Hunger Games', based on Suzanne Collins' book series, but he has warned fans not to expect his character to really come into his own and shine until 2014's 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1', rather than the upcoming second motion picture, 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire'.

Speaking to Hit Fix, he said: "My character in the next one coming up, you get to see a little bit more of the fight in Gale and how much he cares about the whole thing. How he's willing to stand up for what he believes in."

Liam made sure he read all three of Suzanne's books before he auditioned for the film, and he was drawn to the script because of its mix of romance and action.

He previously said: "I read all the books before I met with anyone about the movie, and I became a fan of the books.

"As an actor, I'm always looking for scripts that I relate to, in some way, and things that are interesting and different. If it's combining romance and action, I'm not missing out on anything. I get to do it all.

"I wan to do as many different emotions as I can. It's a pleasure to be able to do both, in the same film."
