Leonardo DiCaprio says that shooting The Great Gatsby in 3D has give the movie the feel of a theatre production.
The actor will take on the title role of Jay Gatsby in Baz Luhrmann's latest movie - a film that sees the pair reunite for the first time since Romeo & Juliet.
And the Oscar nominated actor says that the 3D effect really has helped heighten the intensity between the characters.
Speaking to Flicks and Bits the actor said: "The whole idea of 3D was very interesting to me... the fact that Baz wanted to almost make it like a theatre production.
"We've seen 3D done in a lot of ways, and seen it for all of its spectacle and fantastic action sequences, but to use it in a dramatic context, it's very interesting.
"Because then it does become like theatre, then you actually feel the distance between characters. You feel the intensity that characters will have with one another."
The Great Gatsby is the first film for Luhrmann since Australia while DiCaprio has already enjoyed huge success in 2013 with Django Unchained.
DiCaprio is joined by a terrific cast that includes Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire and Joel Edgerton.
The Great Gatsby is released 16th May.
