Based on the novel My Abandonment by Peter Rock comes upcoming haunting movie Leave No Trace, from Debra Granik. This week, a thrilling new trailer, as well as a stunning poster for the film have been released, both of which you can now check out below:
Exploring what’s touted as “an unexpected existence on the edge”, Leave No Trace follows the story of a teenage girl – played by breakout newcomer Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie – and her father (Ben Foster) who have lived undetected by others for years, in a vast woodland on the edge of Portland, Oregon. When an encounter sees them finally discovered however, they’re quickly removed from the park and are given over to a social service agency.
Doing their best to adapt to their whole new world, the pair don’t get long to acclimatise before they’re sent off on a dangerous journey into the wilderness, hopeful that they’ll find complete independence once more. In doing so however, they’ll face an internal struggle of wanting to be a part of a community, as well as their desire to live apart.
Also starring Dale Dickey and Jeff Kober, Leave No Trace premiered earlier this year at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, obviously making a brilliant impression, as it stands with 100% on reviews aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes following 20 counted reviews.
Leave No Trace comes to cinemas across the UK on June 29, 2018.
