Jake Gyllenhaal has given some terrific performances over the years, and he looks set to deliver another with this latest film Nightcrawler.
Nightcrawler is a movie that I have been looking forward to for some time, and we only have a few more weeks before we get the chance to see Gyllenhaal back in action.
The film sees Gyllenhaal team up with writer/director Dan Gilroy, as he makes his feature film directorial debut.
And it looks like it is going to be a success for Gilroy, after the film was met with great reviews when it premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month.
Gilroy is no stranger to writing duties, having penned screenplays for The Bourne Legacy, Real Steel and The Fall in recent years - but now he is making the transition to the director’s chair.
And Gilroy has brought together a terrific cast for the film, as Gyllenhaal is joined by Bill Paxton, Rene Russo, Riz Ahmed and Ann Cusack.
Gyllenhaal is set to take on the central role Lou Bloom, a young man who starts working as a freelance crime journalist. He starts pushing the boundaries of reporting the news, by making it.
Nightcrawler is just one of the movies that we are going to be seeing Gyllenhaal star in over the next year, as he has also completed work on Nailed, Southpaw, and Everest.
And there is no rest for the actor as he is currently filming his latest project Demolition. The movie sees him team up with Naomi Watts and Chris Cooper, while Jean-Marc Vallee.
Nightcrawler is released 31st October.
