Lashana Lynch says playing Bob Marley's widow Rita Marley in 'Bob Marley: One Love' brought her a lot of "peace" in her own life.
The 36-year-old star always learns something from the various characters she plays, and it was no different when she took on the role of the reggae legend's wife in the new biopic about his life.
She told Film Stories Magazine: "I've been able to harness a stillness that I've been looking for in my life as me and as an artist and as a woman through learning about how much we're able to do everything.
"Sometimes this industry can be so chaotic. Creating art can be so taxing at the worst of times. Especially when you add expectations and pressures to it.
"Through playing Mrs Marley and through channelling the energy of my culture, in a film about my culture, has genuinely given me more peace as a person."
'Bob Marley: One Love' stars 'Barbie' actor Kingsley Ben-Adir as Bob, and documents the singer's rise to fame up until his death from cancer in 1981 aged 36.
Meanwhile, Lashana has said she would be willing to perform the next Bond theme after getting the chance to showcase her singing talents in the biopic.
She told On Demand Entertainment: "Oh my gosh - could you let them know!
"I can write a tune or two and do that. Yeah, yeah, sure. I'd be down. I'd be down.
"That's a great ... great idea. That is. Now I'm like, 'OK, now I must write that down to make sure [Bond producer] Barbara Broccoli knows."
The London-born actress played Nomi alongside Daniel Craig in his final film as 007, 2021's 'No Time To Die'.
