We have already been treated to Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf posters for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, and now it is Lady Galadriel who takes centre stage.

Warner Bros have released a third poster for the final instalment of the hugely successful The Hobbit series, which sees Cate Blanchett return to the role.

Much like Ian McKellen and Gandalf, this is the sixth and final time that we will see Blanchett take on this role.

She appeared in all three The Lord of the Rings films, and repeated that with Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy.

It was back in 2012 when The Hobbit hit the big screen for the first time, and the first two instalments have enjoyed huge box office success.

The Battle of the Five Armies is set to be the epic conclusion to the trilogy, as world collide in this final instalment.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins (Freeman), Thorin Oakenshield (Armitage) and the Company of Dwarves.

The Dwarves of Erebor have reclaimed the vast wealth of their homeland, but now must face the consequences of having unleashed the terrifying Dragon, Smaug, upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town.

As he succumbs to dragon-sickness, the King Under the Mountain, Thorin Oakenshield, sacrifices friendship and honour in his search for the legendary Arkenstone.

Unable to help Thorin see reason, Bilbo is driven to make a desperate and dangerous choice, not knowing that even greater perils lie ahead. An ancient enemy has returned to Middle-earth.

Sauron, the Dark Lord, has sent forth legions of Orcs in a stealth attack upon the Lonely Mountain. As darkness converges on their escalating conflict, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide... unite or be destroyed.

Bilbo finds himself fighting for his life and the lives of his friends as five great armies go to war.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is released 12th December.
