Kill The Messenger is set to hit the big screen in the U.S. on October 17th, Focus Features has announced.
Kill The Messenger will see Jeremy Renner return to the big screen as Gary Webb, in the biopic picture about the reporter.
The movie will follow Webb as he uncovers the CIA's role in arming Contra rebels in Nicaragua and importing cocaine. It would be a story that would turn his world upside down.
Michael Cuesta is back in the director's chair for the film, in what is his first feature project since Roadie. Peter Landesman has penned the screenplay.
Renner already has two Oscar nominations under his belt for The Hurt Locker and The Town, but don't be surprised if he is in the awards mix in twelve months time.
A fantastic cast has been assembled for the film, as Renner is joined by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Michael Sheen, Robert Patrick, Ray Liotta and Andy Garcia.
However, Kill The Messenger is yet to receive a UK release date.
