Kevin Spacey is set to play Winston Churchill in a new biopic.
Captain of the Gate will follow Churchill as he stood against British parliament to defend the country from Nazi tyrant Adolf Hitler in World War II.
Ben Kaplan has penned the screenplay for the film. A director has yet to be named.
The movie will be financed for around $20 million and will be produced by Sierra/Affinity.
StudioCanal, which is behind the recent hit Liam Neeson film 'Non-Stop', is also in talks to come aboard as a producer.
We haven't seen Spacey on the big screen since Inseparable, having focused on TV project House of Cards; a role where he has enjoyed huge success.
Before we see the double Oscar winner in Captain of the Gate, he will be back on the big screen in Horrible Bosses 2.
Filming is currently underway on the new comedy, and will see Spacey reprise the role of Dave Harken.
I smell a possible third Oscar could be coming Spacey's way with this role.
