Kevin Hart's height secured him a part in 'Central Intelligence'.
Hart's co-star Dwayne Johnson has revealed he picked Hart to star alongside him in the action film because he was focused on ensuring the "visual" element of the poster looked good.
He said: "As you can imagine, the studio had given me a list of 10 other actors, all big stars, all would have been great opposite me. We went through the entire list of guys, not just comedy stars, but all the biggest stars in the world. At the end of the call, I said 'There's one guy who has to play this role.' There was a long silence and I said, 'Kevin Hart.'
"I always worked off the visual first, and how we could grab the attention of the world, I felt, was us on the poster. I felt audiences would love to see that pairing."
And Hart says it was a "big deal" to join the 44-year-old actor in the movie.
He told Entertainment Weekly: "D.J. is in an amazing place right now in his career, and to team up with him was a big deal for me. I didn't know this would happen. I didn't know we'd find ourselves here, and I believe in timing. I believe everything happens when it's supposed to."
Meanwhile, Johnson previously revealed he studied Kevin Hart's comedy skills before they made the movie together.
He said: "I downloaded literally every stand-up album he put out. I remember starting to hear about his tours and how successful they were, and I was like, 'Man, he's really doing things.'"
Whilst Hart added: "There's a real partnership that's formed; it's a unique ride. We tried to make it as fresh as possible in a day and age where every realm of buddy film has been done ... My job was to get him to an area where he could not only be funny, but be safe. I had to have his back ... You can't teach funny. You either have it, or you don't. And what DJ has is that, 'I don't give a s**t' attitude.' You have to have a fearless attitude to go in and take comedy risks when you don't do comedy. It's about confidence."
