Keira Knightley is set to produce and star in 'The Other Typist'.
The 'Anna Karenina' actress has landed one of the lead roles in the production based on Suzanne Rindell's mystery thriller novel, which is set in the 1920s and centres around a lonely youngster who works as a typist in a New York City police precinct.
The typist, Rose, strikes up a budding friendship with exotic co-worker Odalie, who introduces her to the glamorous world of the Big Apple, but she soon finds herself becoming fixated with the flamboyant woman - with her fascination bordering on obsession.
As well as starring in the film, Knightley is set to produce the drama, which will be distributed by Fox Searchlight, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It's not yet known whether the actress will play the role of Rose or Odalie.
Knightley - who recently got married to musician James Righton - is currently filming the upcoming movie 'The Laggies' with Chloe Grace Moretz.
The 28-year-old actress was reportedly looking to take a break from Hollywood after her nuptials but quickly jumped at the opportunity to star in the provocative film after Oscar winner Anne Hathaway quit the role.
A source said: "After getting married Keira turned down some major Hollywood scripts so she could enjoy married life. But she loved the script and was eager to jump on board when Anne Hathaway dropped out."
