Keanu Reeves as described John Wick 2 as a 'third-degree black belt.'
Reeves took on the title role of John Wick in the 2015 movie and now a sequel is on the horizon, which will see him return to the action genre.
John Wick was one of the best action movies of last year and the second film is already highly anticipated by fans. The actor says that they are really going to up the ante second time around.
Speaking to IGN about the project, the actor said: "For us it was just what is the next chapter? What is the continuation of this story? Opening up the world - the underground world.
"The world behind the world in terms of the assassins. Kind of evolving the action - if the first one was a black belt, then this one is third-degree black belt. It's such a fun project and a great character."
John Wick 2 will mark the return of Chad Stahelski to the director's chair. This will be the second feature film of his career and the first since he made his debut with John Wick last year.
Bridget Moynahan and Ian McShane are some of the other returning cast members while Laurence Fishburne, Ruby Rose, Peter Stormare and Common are some of the new faces that will be on board.
Reeves went on to talk about Fishburne's character, but it is still not clear whether 'The Bowery King' will be a friend or foe of Wick. The movie will see the two actors reunite, after enjoying huge success with The matrix franchise.
He continued: "Laurence has this fantastic role as a character in the Underworld called The Bowery King. He plays such a great character in the piece and he brings of course humour, intelligence, charisma, and fascination - he's such an incredible actor and it was a pleasure to work with him again."
As for Reeves, he returned to the big screen last week with new crime drama Exposed and has a range of film projects in the pipeline. He has already completed work on The Whole Truth, The Neon Demon, and The Bad Batch.
John Wick 2 is set to hit the big screen in 2017.
