Kate Hudson has voiced her disapproval of the planned remake of Private Benjamin.
Hudson's mum Goldie Hawn starred in Private Benjamin back in 1980: a film that saw the actress team up with director Howard Zieff and writer Nancy Meyers.
But now a remake is in the pipeline with Rebel Wilson set for the lead role. But Hudson is not happy about the project.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, the actress said: "(My mum) not only created (that role), she produced it.
"I think it's best not to touch those things, personally. I also think that, you know, it's not gonna be the same."
She continued: "What I loved about that film was what it stood for women in film. Because Private Benjamin was two women, Nancy Meyers and my mum, writing.
"My mum didn't write it, Nancy and Chuck (Shyer) did, but (they were) writing a script, producing, which never was done in Hollywood - a female movie star producing her own work. She spearheaded that."
Private Benjamin remains one of Hawn's most famous roles: she was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her central performance.
As for Hudson, she will be back in Wish I Was Here and has also completed work on Born to be King and Good People.
