Karl Urban has revealed that the Thor: Ragnarok script is 'fantastic' and his character has a 'great arc.'
Urban is one of the exciting new additions to the Thor franchise and has been cast in the role of Skurge the Executioner in the upcoming film.
Thor: Ragnarok will be the third solo film for the character and will see Taika Waititi take over the director's chair to helm his first Marvel film.
Speaking to IGN, Urban talks about what drew him to the project and drops little hints about his character. He said: "I read a fantastic script that was action-packed and full of great characters.
"When I heard who was involved - and the cast list dropped yesterday - and [saw] the opportunity to work with Taika Waititi, who I think is one of the most brilliant directors coming through, I made the decision it was something that I wanted to be a part of.
"The character is fantastic. He's got a great arc to him. Obviously, I can't say too much about it, but I'm really thrilled to be a part of the Marvel universe and to be working on Thor: Ragnarok."
Urban is not the only new faces on the cast list Cate Blanchett Jeff Goldblum and Mark Ruffalo are also on board as Hela, Grandmaster, and Bruce Banner. This will be the first time that we have seen the Hulk feature outside of the Avengers franchise.
But there are plenty of franchise favourites returning as Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Idris Elba will be back as Thor, Loki, and Heimdall.
It really is an exciting cast list and Thor: Ragnarok could be the biggest and most exciting Thor solo film to date.
Filming is expected to get underway later this year for an autumn 2017 release.
As for Urban, he will be back on the big screen this summer as he reprises the role of Bones in Star Trek Beyond, the third film in the new franchise.
He is also set to star in a remake of Disney classic Pete's Dragon, which will see him star alongside Bryce Dallas Howard and Robert Redford.
Thor: Ragnarok is released 27th October 2017.
