June Squibb has revealed that she was immediately drawn to the Nebraska script when she read it for the first time.
Squibb teamed up with Bruce Dern and Will Forte in the Alexander Payne directed film, which won critical acclaim when it was released at the end of last year.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with FemaleFirst, the actress said: This script was brilliant.
"It was one of the sparsest scripts that I have ever read. There wasn't a single word that wasn't absolutely necessary in this script.
"Bob Nelson was just brilliant with what he wrote and how he wrote it. You read it and you think 'oh my god I want to do that'".
Squibb's performance was met with critical acclaim, and she picked up her first Oscar nomination: she received a Best Supporting nod for her work.
The actress is currently film in I'll See You In My Dreams, which sees her star alongside Malin Akerman, Blythe Danner and Sam Elliott.
Nebraska is out on DVD & Blu-Ray 14th April. Check out our full June Squibb interview.
