Julianne Moore has joined the cast of Still Alice.
Still Alice is a big screen adaptation of the novel by Lisa Genova, and will see Moore take on the lead role according to Variety.
Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland are on board to direct the film and shooting is expected to get underway in February next year.
The story follows a cognitive psychologist (Moore) who faces the early onset of Alzeheimer's disease and as the illness takes over her, the relationships between her family begin to break down.
Moore will be back on the big screen this month as she stars alongside Chloe Grace Moretz in the remake of Carrie.
We are also going to be seeing plenty of the actress next year as Seventh Son, Non-Stop and Maps to the Stars are all set to be released.
Moore is also set to take on the role of Alma Coin in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and Part 2.
Production on the final two movies will begin this year for release in November 2014 and November 2015, respectively.
