Julianne Moore says she liked working with David Cronenberg because he doesn't like a lot of rehearsal before shooting scenes.
Moore has teamed up with Cronenberg for his new film Maps To The Stars, which sees her team up with Robert Pattinson, Mia Wasikowska, and John Cusack.
And Moore reveals that she is also not a big fan of rehearsal and enjoys finding the character and the moment during the shoot.
Speaking to Empire, the actress said: "I really don't like to rehearse that much. I have a theory about film acting that I want to have a feeling on camera and try and let that material affect me while I am doing it.
"That doesn’t mean that I haven't worked tremendously on my own before I have gotten there, but I do like that immediacy.
"I like that combustion of it coming together on camera. It is one of the things that I get excited about with film acting."
Maps to the Stars premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, where it competed for the Palme d'Or. It may have missed out on that prize, but Moore won the Best Actress Award for her central performance.
It is going to be a busy autumn for the actress as we are also going to be seeing her play President Alma Coin in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1.
Maps to the Stars is released 26th September.
