Joss Whedon says that Ultron is an interesting character because he is angry and in pain.
The director revealed at Comic Con that Ultron would be the new villain in The Avengers: Age of Ultron - the hugely anticipated sequel to Avengers Assemble.
Now Whedon is talking a bit more about what we can expect from the character, admitting that he has always wanted to put him in an Avengers movie.
Speaking to EW the director said: "I knew right away what I wanted to do with him. He’s always trying to destroy the Avengers, goddamn it, he’s got a bee in his bonnet. He’s not a happy guy, which means he’s an interesting guy.
"He’s got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff.
"So we’ll take away some of those powers because at some point everybody becomes magic, and I already have someone [a new character, Scarlet Witch] who’s a witch."
While we know that Ultron will be the villain, we are no closer to finding out who is going to play him - or any of the other new roles for that matter.
Elizabeth Olsen in the new name linked with the role of Scarlet Witch. While Aaron Taylor-Johnson is believed to still be in talks for Quicksilver.
Filming is set to get underway next year. The Avengers: Age of Ultron is released 1st May 2015.
