Josh Brolin says he is excited about the upcoming discussions on the future of Thanos in the Marvel films.
Thanos has been a character that has very much been in the background pulling the screens and we have caught glimpses of him here and there.
We last saw him during the credits of Avengers: The Age of Ultron and he looks set to play a much larger role as we move toward Avengers: Infinity War.
Speaking to Superhero Hype about the character, the actor said: "We're supposed to get together very soon to talk about the trajectory of Thanos in the next few years and it's very exciting. It's one of the better decisions I think I've made."
So it does look like we are going to be seeing plenty more of Thanos as we go forward in the Marvel Cinematic Universe; I cannot wait to see Brolin given something to really get his teeth into with this character.
Phase 3 of Marvel movies is set to get under way this spring with the release of Captain America: Civil War, which will further build toward Avengers: Infinity War.
Civil War will be the first of two Marvel films this year, the second being the first solo movie for Doctor Stranger. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, Spider-Man, and Thor: Ragnarok will all follow in 2017.
Are we going to see Thanos make an appearance in any of these movies? At the moment, that remains a mystery.
As for Brolin, he will be back on the big screen at the beginning of March with Hail, Caesar! a movie that will see him reunite with directors Joel and Ethan Coen. It will be the first time that we have seen Brolin since the critically acclaimed Sicario in autumn last year.
The actor is currently filming The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter with Danny McBride and director Jody Hill.
