Josh Hutcherson believes that it is unfair that The Hunger Games is being compared to Twilight as they are very different projects.
The actor will be back on the big screen later this year as he takes on the role of Peeta in the adaptation of the Suzanne Collins novel.
And while there is a teen element to the success of the novels Hutcherson says that this is a completely different movie.
Speaking to Digital Spy the actor said: I think it's unfair because it gives really big expectations for what we're supposed to do at the box office. Those movies are ridiculously successful," he explained.
"As far as their stories go they're very different. There are some similarities with it being a popular younger teen book and a bit of a love element, as well.
"In Twilight it's about vampires and werewolves, in our world it's a futuristic world that's very realistic. It's about survival and giving power to the people."
The adaptation has been directed by Gary Ross and also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Hemsworth and Woody Harrelson.
But before we see Hutcherson in The Hunger Games he is back on the big screen this week in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, in which he reprises the role of Sean Anderson.
The Hunger Games is released 23rd March
