Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been linked to a role in To Reach The Clouds.
To Reach The Clouds looks set to be a live action take on hit documentary Man On Wire, and would see Gordon-Levitt take on the role of a high-wire walker.
The movie is set to be directed by Robert Zemeckis - it would be his first film since Flight.
According to Twitch, the script has already been penned by Zemeckis and co-writer Christopher Browne, with the movie expected to draw largely from Petit's 2002 memoir.
The French adventurer gained fame for his high-wire walk between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre in New York City in August 1974.
The film is reportedly being planned in a 3D format, which would offer a spectacular visual experience as Petit balances high above the city.
The documentary Man on Wire was released back in 2008, and went on to win the Best Documentary Feature Oscar.
We are going to be seeing Gordon-Levitt back on the big screen in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For; he is one of the new faces on the cast list.
He has also lent his voice to animation film The Wind Rises - the final directorial outing for Hayao Miyazaki.
