Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks set to direct and star in new film The Sandman.
Gordon-Levitt is currently in talks with Warner Bros to get on board with the big screen adaptation of the Neil Gaiman comic book.
David S. Goyer is currently involved with the project but no writer has officially been brought on board.
Gordon-Levitt confirmed on Twitter that he will at least produce the film.
"Just to clarify, folks. I've signed on as a producer on Sandman. The rest remains to be seen. Delighted you guys are excited. I am too!"
Gordon-Levitt already has a good relationship with Warner Bros having starred in Inception and The Dark Knight Rises in recent years.
Gordon-Levitt made his directorial debut earlier this year with Don Jon; a project he directed, wrote, produced and starred in.
'The Sandman' centres on Morpheus, who is the personification of dreams. The horror/fantasy series sees the central character escape after being held captive for 70 years and gain revenge on those who wronged him.
He must also rebuild his life and adjust to the times following his decades-long captivity.
As for Gordon-Levitt he will be back on the big screen next year in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
