Gordon-Levitt is set to produce and potentially star in the period drama 'K Troop', which is set in the post-Civil War period in the US.

The movie chronicles the rise of the white supremisist group in the American South in 1865 and, more specifically, the man who led the US Army's elite K Troop that stomped the KKK in 1871.

Joseph will produce the Amazon movie through his hitRECord Films banner, and the project is currently in the process of trying to identify a writer.

Meanwhile, Joseph's much-anticipated new movie about American whistleblower Edward Snowden has been pushed back until May.

The Oliver Stone-directed project follows the life of the controversial American, and has been delayed by a number of months after it was originally scheduled for release in late 2015.

'Snowden' co-stars Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, and Tom Wilkinson, and is Stone's most overtly political effort since 2008's George W. Bush biopic 'W'.

However, his more recent movies, which have included 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps' in 2010 and 'Savages' in 2012, have failed to match expectations.
