Jonathan Glazer
Jonathan Glazer has heaped praise on Scarlett Johansson, saying that she is like Lauren Bacall.
Glazer teams up with Johansson for the first time in their new film Under The Skin; which has been playing on the festival circuit for the last few weeks.
The movie sees Johnasson play an alien in human form, and Glazer says that the actress was nothing but dedicated to making this movie.
Speaking to Collider the director said: "Well, quite obviously her beauty and sensuality. The fact that she’s objectified and to use all of those things for the character.
"But then the journey is about watching that change and countering that fact. She’s a terrific character actress, I think. She’s very skilful and a terrific comedian.
"She’s like Lauren Bacall. Very adaptable, very intelligent and witty. I think if the film is anything at all, it’s because of her dedication to it. I wouldn’t have been as committed without her."
The movie is based on the novel by Michel Faber and is a project unlike anything that Johansson has done before.
As for Glazer this is just his third feature film, and the first since Birth back in 2004.
