Jonah Hill has revealed that he is influenced by movies such as This Is England and Kids.
Hill is set to make the leap into the director's chair with Mid-90s, which is due to start filming at the beginning of February 2017.
Hill is one of the most exciting actors around - not to mention a terrific writer - and it will be exciting to see him make the leap into the director's chair.
And Hill dropped some little hints about what we can expect from the film as well as some of the movies that have influenced him.
Speaking to Collider, the actor said: "It's sort of like a coming-of-age drama - it's the most boring elevator pitch in the world, but it takes place in a skateboarding scene in the mid-90s in L.A...
"Skateboarding's always been put on screen as a joke or an 80s cowabunga kind of trope, and it's more in the tone of Kids or This Is England. Those are kind of the movies that I'm influenced by the most."
While it is exciting that Hill is turning his attention to directing, we will be seeing him back on the big screen this summer with new film War Dogs.
The movie sees the actor team up with Miles Teller and filmmaker Todd Phillips; it will be his first feature since the success of The Hangover Part III back in 2013.
Hill will also lend his voice to animation project Sausage Party, which will be released at the beginning of September.
Should shooting on Hill's directorial debut get underway on time we could see the movie reach screens by the mid to end of next year.
