Johnny Depp was on hand to present Christopher Lee with his BFI Fellowship away on Saturday night.
Lee was being honoured at the BFI London Film Festival over the weekend for his services to film and was given the organisation's highest prize.
Depp has worked with Lee on a series of Tim Burton movies including Sleep Hollow and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, and surprised the actor when he turned up to present the award.
Speaking earlier this month when it was announced that Lee would be receiving this honour he said: "It is a great privilege to be included amongst such a distinguished group of predecessors who have received this Award from the BFI."
The BFI Fellowship was not the only award handed out on Saturday night as the Official Competition winners were also announced,
Best Film went to Ida, which is directed by Pawel Pawlikowski, while The Grierson Award for Best Documentary when to My Fathers, My Mother And Me by Paul-Julien Robert.
Ilo Ilo scooped the First Feature Competition prize, while screenwriter Jonathan Asser won Best British Newcomer for his work on Starred Up.
The BFI London Film Festival was brought to a close last night with the screening of Saving Mr Banks starring Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks.
