John Lee Hancock says it was like 'Christmas everyday' to get to work with such a great cast on Saving Mr Banks.
Hancock is back in the director's chair for the film that follows P.L. Travers, who travels to LA to meet Walt Disney; a man who wants to make Mary Poppins into a film.
The film sees Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks take on the role of Travers and Disney, and Hancock loved working with them.
Speaking to HeyUGuys the director said: "It was, absolutely. I was very fortunate and blessed and I couldn’t believe it, it was like Christmas everyday.
"We weren’t paying people their rates, everybody was doing it for the love of the project, so it was great."
Hancock has brought together a fantastic cast for this film as Thompson and Hanks are joined by Colin Farrell, Paul Giamatti, Jason Schwartzman and Bradley Whitford.
Saving Mr Banks closed the BFI London Film Festival last month and has been met well by the critics.
Saving Mr Banks is out now.
