Jim Carrey says that he is not set to star in Guardians of the Galaxy as he has never heard of it.
The actor has been linked to the new Marvel superhero movie but he was quick to quash the rumours.
Speaking to Geekscape the actor said: "Never heard of it. Never heard of it, honest to God.
"There's a whole world [of rumours] out there that's created on its own. I'm not dead either."
Guardians of the Galaxy is just the latest Marvel project in the pipeline and will see James Gunn in the director's chair.
Carrey is not the only big named actor to be linked to the movie as it was believed that Joseph Gordon Levitt was also going to be involved in the film - another rumour that was quashed.
There has been no announcement of the cast yet but the film is set to hit the big screen in summer 2014.
As for Carrey he is back this week as he joins Steve Carell and Steve Buschemi for comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.
Carrey will also be one of the new faces in Kick Ass 2 later this year.
The Incredible Burt Wonderstone is released 15th March.
