Jessica Chastain has revealed that she would love to play a Bond villain.
Chastain is one of Hollywood's biggest stars and while she has no desire to play a Bond girl, she says that being in the franchise as a villain is one of her 'goals.'
Speaking to W Magazine, the actress said: "One of my goals is to play a villain in a Bond film.People ask me if I want to be a Bond girl, and I say, 'No, I want to be the villain'. I'm waiting for that call!"
And while we won't be seeing Chastain in Spectre at the end of the month, is she someone we could be seeing in the franchise in the future? It would be great to see the Bond villain role going to more women as the franchise continues to move forward and evolve.
As for Chastain, the Oscar nominated actress is currently sitting comfortably at the top of both the U.S. and UK box office with her latest film The Martian, which sees her team up with Ridley Scott and Matt Damon.
The Martian kicks off a busy autumn for the popular actress as she is set to return this week with her latest film Crimson Peak, which sees Guillermo del Toro in the director's chair.
Chastain has been in a del Toro produced film - she starred in Mama - but this will be the first time that she has been directed by the visionary filmmaker. Chastain is joined on the cast list by Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston, and Charlie Hunnam.
The actress has also completed work on The Huntsman and is just one of the new faces on the cast list for the spin off of Snow White and The Huntsman - Chris Hemsworth will reprise the title role.
Chastain is back on set and currently filming her latest movie The Zookeeper's Wife, which is directed by Niki Caro and is inspired by the book by Diane Ackerman. Chastain takes on the role of Antonina Zabinska who, along with her husband, save hundreds of people and animals during the Nazi invasion.
