Jessica Chastain has joined the cast of the big screen adaptation of The Secret Scripture.
The Secret Scripture is based on the 2008 novel by Sebastian Barry and will see Chastain star alongside Vanessa Redgrave.
According to IFTN Chastain and Redgrave will play the younger and older version of the character Roseanne McNulty.
The story follows a 100-year-old woman, who resides in the Roscommon Regional Mental Hospital, as she sits down to pen an autobiography before stashing it away under her floorboards, undecided whether she wants people to find it and read her story.
Noel Pearson is set to produce the film, while the screenplay has been penned by Johnny Ferguson. A director is yet to be named.
Chastain is currently filming Interstellar, which is the latest movie from director Christopher Nolan. Nolan has teamed up with his brother Jonathan to pen the screenplay, while Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway will also star.
