Jesse Eisenberg has become the latest name to be linked to new comic book movie Suicide Squad.
Suicide Squad is the latest DC Comic film project for Warner Bros, and will see David Ayer in the director’s chair for his first film in this genre.
It was revealed last week that Tom Hardy, Ryan Gosling and Will Smith we re all believed to be in talks for major roles in the new film - which follows a group of supervillains.
Now Deadline have reported that we could well be seeing Eisenberg on the cast list as well as Lex Luthor - a role he is set to play for the first time in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Suicide Squad is set to hit the big screen after the release - and hopefully the success - of Dawn of Justice, and this movie will allow Luthor to be developed even further as a character.
Eisenberg is one of the new faces on the cast list for the Man of Steel sequel, as Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa and Ben Affleck will also be introduced as Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Batman for the first time, as Warner Bros continue to move towards bringing a Justice League movie to the big screen.
Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne will be reprising the roles of Superman, Lois Lane, Martha Kent, and Perry White.
Filming on Dawn of Justice is well under way, with Zack Snyder back in the director’s chair, but it won’t be until 2016 that we will see the release of the film.
Night Moves was the last time that we saw Eisenberg on the big screen, but he has also completed work on The End of the Tour and American Ultra - both of which are due for release next year.
Eisenberg is also set to reprise the role of J. Daniel Atlas in Now You See Me 2 and has been linked to a role in Arms and Dudes with director Todd Phillips - it will be interesting to see if any of these projects are put in danger should he become involved in Suicide Squad.
I can’t wait to see who is on the cast list for the movie when Warner Bros finally make an official announcement as to who is involved.
